Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) to use Integromics’ RealTime StatMiner

Madrid – 16 April, 2008 - The leading institution in cancer research in Spain, the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre, guides the discovery of new and effective diagnostics for cancer patients. The centre, holding almost 50 research groups, commits itself to incorporate state-of-the-art technologies in the research field of oncology. As Dr. Margarita Sanchez-Beato (Senior Researcher of Lymphoma Group) states “StatMiner is the tool we need to face the challenge of analyzing vast amounts of gene expression data”.

After licensing RealTime StatMiner, one of the first projects using this unique application will be in the discovery of new molecular Biomarkers for diagnosis and prediction of cancer diseases. “The software will dramatically reduce the time and efforts during the analysis of dozens of Applied Biosystem’s TaqMan© assays, setting flexible quality controls and filtering options” she continued to say. RealTime StatMiner applies accurate mathematical methods and statistical tests providing accurate results of qPCR experiments.
